Dr. Ruth Gresley
TEACHING EXPERIENCE: Dr. Gresley began working in Nursing education in 1969 when she moved from a head nurse position at St. Louis Children’s Hospital in St. Louis to an instructor position in staff development at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
In 1973, she began teaching at Southern Illinois University and left there after 23 years to come to CUW in 1996 to become the Program Director for the new Master’s of Science in Nursing program. She teaches the Nurse Educator option in the MSN program. In 2005, she was in the National League for Nursing’s first group of Certified Nurse Educators. Her clinical practice is in the area of community health. She is one of the Wellness Advocates for the South Wisconsin LCMS District.
INTERESTS: Ruth and her husband, John, are the owners of the Gresley House Bed and Breakfast in Mequon. She enjoys spending time with her two grown sons. She also does some flower and vegetable gardening and bead jewelry making.
