Rev. Dr. Jason Soenksen
Dr. Jason Soenksen serves a divine call as associate professor of theology at Concordia University Wisconsin. He earned a B.A. in Theological Languages at what was then Concordia University, River Forest, an M.A. in classics from Washington University in St. Louis, and an M.Div. from Concordia Seminary.
As part of his seminary work, Dr. Soenksen studied at the Lutherische Theologische Hochschule in Oberursel, Germany. He earned his Ph.D. in the History of Biblical Interpretation through a joint program between Hebrew Union College and the University of Cincinnati Classics Department in 2010. Since 2005 he has taught courses in Hebrew, Greek, and Bible. Dr. Soenksen is writing the Micah commentary for the Concordia Commentary Series and is working on a translation of Jerome’s Latin commentary on Amos for InterVarsity Press. His wife Michelle serves the church as a deaconess and organist. They have two girls, Emma and Rachel, and reside in Grafton, WI.
