2022 Woman of Influence Winner: Dr. Carol Lueders Bolwerk

The Women’s Leadership Institute proudly introduces the 2022 recipient of the annual community Woman of Influence Award, Dr. Carol Lueders Bolwerk!

This leadership award seeks to recognize the women of influence in our communities who boldly serve and lead in the circles that God has placed them. The award honors women who embody WLI's mission to educate, encourage and embolden Christian women for

exemplary leadership. At the annual award banquet, the recipient will share her leadership journey and receive an honorarium in appreciation for her service to the church, the community and those in her spheres of influence.

Dr. Carol Lueders Bolwerk has used her profession of nursing to minister to many. She initially worked in the Emergency Department and was a nurse manager, then transitioned into higher education at Concordia University Wisconsin where she has worked for three decades. Her students describe her as kind, thoughtful, a guardian angel on earth. Many have recognized her personal touch and how she goes above and beyond for those she comes into contact with.

She has made a significant impact on Parish Nursing as the director of the program at CUW for almost 20 years. In that role, she has performed research and published articles about Parish Nursing, planned multiple convocations, and held leadership roles both locally and internationally. Carol’s colleagues note that her actions are Christ-focused and she makes thoughtful and prayerful considerations when faced with adversity. She is a mentor to many and is a champion for professional growth and encourages others to succeed. Within the community and at her local congregation, Carol also provides a healing and helping hand through prayer shawl ministry and supporting music ministries through the Lueders Music Endowment.
