New Look. Same Christ-Centered Mission.

We are excited to share our new branding look to reflect the mission and vision of the Women’s Leadership Institute, an Institute of Concordia University Wisconsin-Ann Arbor!

The tree is a symbol of the deep roots of our Christian Faith. We are women who recognize we are uniquely designed by our Creator and Father and lead out of love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who made possible our work through His words, sacrifice, and resurrection. Jesus modeled what it means to serve within our leadership and community contexts and we strive to follow His example.

The roots of the tree reflect our commitment to educating, encouraging, and emboldening Christian women in exemplary leadership within this LCMS understanding of doctrine and vocation. The tree is the foundation for all of WLI’s mentoring, serving, and leadership contexts. The tree branch symbolizes the growth made possible through the Holy Spirit.

The hand/nest represents WLI women encouraging and emboldening other women on their life and vocational journeys. Women of all ages can find within WLI a community of committed women willing to grow and learn together and receive support whilst stepping further into the contexts they have been called to lead and serve. The nest acts as a shelter, but also as a launching point for the woman to go forth. The wing of the bird and the tree branch both aim up, which means positive growth and direction out toward the world.

The tree, hand, and leaves also relate to the WLI Growing Together program logo with a focus on fostering fruitful conversations within mentoring contexts. This logo is created to be feminine, personal, and inspirational and demonstrate how personally WLI works with others to educate and embolden them in their vocational contexts.
